March 2010 news

Rima Admariam

This is a personal request about the foster daughter of a colleague and friend.  Over the last two years I have had the privilege of working with Prof. Alison Phipps (on the right in the picture). Alison, who lectures in the Education faculty at Glasgow University, and her husband have been looking after Rima.  Rima, an asylum seeker is under severe threat of deportation by the UK Border Agency. The family live in constant fear of a dawn raid by police. If we are shocked by such things happening in the UK, then we need to realise they do with awful frequency.

I simply ask that you read Rima’s story (inside), or visit the websites for more information www.letrimastay.org.uk &

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=211046795536  and pray for her and those who are caring for her.   (ken)
